Kathmandu, November 17: The Election Commission has stated that the election code of conduct is starting today in districts where by-elections of the local bodies are taking place.

The Commission has provided details about what can be done and what not during the period of the code of conduct remains effective.

Elections for vacant posts of the local bodies are taking place on Sunday, December 1. The Commission has set today (Sunday) for giving candidature by those contesting the election.

Elections are taking place for the vacant posts of two chiefs of the District Coordination Committees, two Rural Municipality Chairmen, four Rural Municipality Vice Chairmen, one Chief of a Municipality and one Vice Chief of a Municipality, and 34 Ward Chairs. In total, in 44 places, the elections are taking place.
