Nepal to print new notes incorporating Kalapani area

Kathmandu, October 28: Nepal has decided to bring into circulation 100 rupees denominated notes by printing Nepal’s new map incorporating the Kalapani-Lipulekh-Limpiyadhura terrotory currently onesidedly occupied by India.

Four years after the release of the country’s map with Limpiyadhura, the Nepal Rastra Bank is going to print the country’s map in the 100 rupee notes.

The new map of Nepal including Lipulekh, Kalapani and Limpiyadhura approved by the previous Parliament and certified by the President.

However, India is occupying the territory and denied to talk on the issue during the high-level visits. Currently, India is constructing a motorable road linking Uttarakhanda Pradesh with the Chinese border via the Nepali territory.

The Central Bank had decided to print new notes with Nepal’s new map earlier, however, due to the stock of the notes, the decision was not implemented. Nevertheless, now, the Bank has started the process to print the new note.
