Kathmandu, November 18: Chief Secretary Baikuntha Aryal has tendered resignation. Aryal, who was transferred to the National Planning Commission, submitted his resignation at the Secretariat of Chief Secretary Eknarayan Aryal. Chief Secretary Aryal’s Secretariat has sent the resignation letter to the Cabinet Meeting and Constitutional Bodies Division of the Office of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.

Aryal joined the National Planning Commission as a special officer on Sunday afternoon. Aryal, who returned to government service after receiving a clean chit from the special court in a corruption case, was transferred to the Planning Commission by the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers. After receiving the clean chit, Aryal went to the Commission and assumed the post of the Special Officer.

The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority filed a case against Aryal for corruption in the printing of customs stickers. His suspension was revoked after he got a clean chit from a special court.
