Koshi Province Chief sacks Chief Minister Karki

Kathmandu, May 9: The Province Chief of the Koshi Province, Parshuram Khapung has sacked the Chief Minister of the province, Kedar Karki. 

Khapung, under Article 168, Sub Article 5, sacked Karki on Wednesday evening, paving the way for the election of the new chief minister.

Chief Khapung has given a deadline of 5 pm on Friday, May 10 for the formation of the new government in the Koshi Province. 

In a notice issued by the Province Chief on Wednesday, it is stated that after 52 province council members took back their support to Chief Minister Karki and the Province Council passed a commitment proposal, the Chief Minister had to face a vote of confidence within 30 days. As Karki failed to face a vote of confidence, he has been sackedit is stated in the notice.
