What about Dhanraj Gurung and Rishikesh Pokhrel?

BABBLES

Rastriya Swatantra Party President and sitting MP Ravi Lamichhane is under Police custody on the charge of cooperatives fraud. Conducting an investigation against such a powerful leader is a good beginning. Nepali Congress Vice President Dhanraj Gurung and UML leader and chair of the Public Account Committee in the Parliament are also involved in the cooperatives fraud cases. Will the Police arrest them and conduct an investigation, let’s wait and see.

Big heart of Min Bahadur Gurung

How much money has the Bhatbhateni Super Market earned that its owner holds the capacity to donate ten ropanis and 14 annas of land and also a well-equipped UML headquarters?

Does it belong to moral ethics for the UML leaders to accept billions of rupees worth of grants from a controversial businessman?

Not a surprise that politics has become a business without investment. Every political leader collects donations when they contest elections and once they are elected, they carry files handed over by the businessmen and roam around concerned leaders and ministries to accomplish the job assigned by the businessmen. However, it was a secret deal that both sides, the businessmen and political leaders, never disclosed how much donation was provided or received by them. Nevertheless, the UML decided to accept donations in public, perhaps, the party is maintaining transparency.

We could appreciate Min Bahadur Gurung if he had donated to schools and hospitals but we cannot appreciate his donation to a political party involved in many corruption scandals.

Neighbor like India

Reports state that India has created hurdles in importing Nepali cement and clinker. Sometimes, India stops importing Nepali tea, sometimes cardamom and sometimes ginger.

According to the business sources, some big Indian dairy industries are eying on the Nepal market for their products and to get entry, the Indian government has created obstacles in imports from Nepal.

Nepal is demanding new air routes but India has not granted permission. Understandably, India wants to suppress Nepal and if the Nepali economy turns weak, it will be easy to achieve its goals. Our economists, business analysts, planning commission members and political leaders should understand the Indian strategy and develop strategic plans to improve Nepal’s economy.

We are making big talks about exporting electricity to India but we are not sure when the Indians stop importing Nepali electricity for some big bargaining. Be alert on time!

QUOTES OF THE WEEK

This country is run by K.P. Oli and Oli is run by Marbaris and businessmen.

For the destruction of this country, the 884 members of parliaments, 13 constitutional commissions, 753 heads and deputy heads of the local bodies, employees appointed on a contract basis by political leaders and rampant corruption are the reasons.

Narendra Bikram Chand

India gave a gesture that it would provide new air routes for Nepal after China proposed to give air routes for full operation of the two newly constructed international airports in Pokhara and Bhairahawa. India is the real obstacle in the development of Nepal.

Till some time ago, Nepal was the most trusted nation and society in the world – the material that came out in the media was considered as truth. It was considered a sin to doubt the constitutional bodies, court and army. Therefore, the nation, society and state were all safe. What about today?Ksehav P Bhattarai

Ravijee should help with the investigation against the cooperative’s fraud. But what about NC Vice President Dhanraj Gurung and Public Account Committee chief Rishikesh Pokhrel?

Tara Kharel

Looking at the kind of politicians and the kind of society that has been built, is anyone ready to bet that the country will be on the right track in the next 10 years? I am clear about it. If we rise above personal considerations to overcome all the shortcomings of the past and make the Constitution not ‘servicing’ but ‘overhauling’ in the long-term interest of the country, even God himself will come down to the earth and try to build this nation, it is impossible. It will continue to deteriorate.

My respect for Min Bahadur Gurung was high when he donated Rs 45 crore to a children’s hospital initiated by Bhagawan Koirala.

I am embarrassed by the news about Gurung’s donation to the UML.

Accepting donations/assistance is also considered corruption. Accepting a donation from a person whose case is under consideration in court for crimes related to grabbing government land is an example of a conflict of interest.

In a dictatorship, people can think what they want, but they can’t speak. In a democracy, people can say what they want, but they can’t think what they need. Your thought process is suppressed by the party-run media. In a democracy, the government thinks for you and after a long time, it weakens your ability to think. Democracy in Nepal is shrinking in the voting process. Democracy is only a numerical majority. There is nothing qualitative about it.

The Prime Minister of Singapore travels by air on an economic class ticket; he does not walk with a large group of sycophants. He avoids unnecessary burden on the state.

Dhruba H. Adhikary

The word “donation” has become viral after donating one billion rupees worth of land and one billion rupees worth of building. Our ancestors had said donations should be given to honest people and accepting donations from the honest person only.

Laxaman Ghimire

Prime Minister Oli has been continuously leading to institutional corruption. He was the initiator of scandals like Yeti, wide-body, Omni, and Giribandhu in the past, this time he was seen as unable to uphold the dignity of the post of Prime Minister by waiving off the electricity bill and receiving the building gift from the accused.
