Five-point agreement to control airfares
Kathmandu, November 9: The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has signed a five-point agreement with stakeholders to control airfare hikes. The deal was reached at a government meeting and representatives of domestic and international airline companies held today (Saturday).
The meeting also decided to fix and make public the price list of air tickets and make it public only in a certain quantity while signing an agreement with travel agencies to sell tickets. It has also been decided that the airline operators will be responsible for controlling the airfare.
Director General of CAAN Pradeep Adhikari, Chief of Tribhuvan International Airport Jagannath Niraula, representatives from the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security and operators of domestic and international airlines were present in today’s meeting.
CAAN has appointed Senior Officer Bishnu Prasad Poudel as the person to listen to the complaints related to airfare.
