Huge crowd of commoners at Nirmal Niwas to receive Dasain Tika from former King

Kathmandu, October 12: Compared to the previous years, this year, a huge crowd was gathered at the Nirmal Noiwas to receive the Dasain Tika from former King Gyanendra.
King Gyanendra started giving Tika exactly at 4 pm and a long queue was witnessed even outside the Nirmal Niwas premises waiting their turn to receive Tika from the King. The Nirmal Niwas is the private residence of the King.

Compared to the spontaneous crowd at Nirmal Niwas, there was the presence of very few commoners present at the President’s Office besides those who were in government jobs.
The gatherings at the Nirmal Niwas and the President’s Office were the real referendum on the institution of monarchy and republicanism.
People, who are fading from the republican structure, are seeking restoration of the institution of monarchy with the hope of betterment of their lives. With the hope for a change, they were egger to receive the Dasain Tika from the former King.
