Auspicious time to receive Bhaitika

Kathmandu, October 28: The Nepal Panchang Adjudicatory Development Committee has made public the auspicious time to receive Bhaitika from sisters is 11.37 am on Sunday, November 3.

Executive Director Suryaprasad Dhungel informed that today’s meeting of the Committee decided the auspicious time to receive Bhaitiak. The Committee has also said that brothers should face towards the West while receiving the Tika. The Kija Puja, which is celebrated by the Newar community, is also scheduled to be held on the same day.

This year’s Yamapanchak (Tihar), the second biggest festival in Nepal, is starting on Tuesday, October 29. The festival of Dhanteras is celebrated on Tuesday. Yamadipadana is observed on Wednesday, October 30.

The Committee has also suggested observing Kagtihar (worshipping the crows) and observing the Dhanvantari Anniversary, the pioneer of Ayurveda, on Wednesday.

Kukur Tihar (worshipping dogs) also known as Narak Chaturdashi, Deepamalika and Laxmi Puja should also be observed on Thursday, October 31. As Friday, November 1, is the no-moon’s day, no festival is being observed on that day.

On Saturday, November 2, the Gaipooja (worshipping cows), Govardan Pooja (worshipping ox), Balipooja, Mahapooja and new Nepal Sambat 1145 should be observed, the Committee has suggested.
