Indian SSB chief pays courtesy call on Home Minister Lekhak

Kathmandu, November 17: A team led by Director General of the Indian Armed Border Security Force (SSB), Amrit Mohan Prasad, held a meeting with Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak. According to the Home Minister’s Secretariat, during the meeting held at the Ministry of Home Affairs in Singha Durbar on Sunday morning, discussions were held on the work being done by the Nepal-India Border Armed Police Force Nepal and the Indian Border Security Force (SSB) in a cordial atmosphere. During the meeting, the Home Minister emphasized the need for cooperation in combating illicit drug trafficking and smuggling, human trafficking as well as criminal activities in the border areas.

Home Secretary Gokarnmani Dwivedi, Chief of Armed Police Force Nepal, Inspector General of Armed Police Raju Aryal and Director General of SSB Amrit Mohan Prasad participated in the meeting. Minister Lekhak urged for performing good manner by the security forces on the citizens at the border checkpoints.

“Nepal and India have a long-standing relationship,” the Home Minister said, adding, “I am confident that the work done by the Border Security Force on the border will further strengthen the relationship between the two countries.

The meeting was attended by a high-level team of SSB including the Director General. A high-level team of SSB led by Director General Prasad came to Kathmandu to attend the coordination meeting between the Armed Police Force Nepal and the Indian Sashastra Seema Bal.
